Tasting Notes

Aromas of stewed red cherry, root beer, smoke, and earth. Extremely bright with red fruit and refreshing acidity on the palate, along with light tannins that will also be able to age for several years.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine was grown at Buena Suerte Vineyards in Meadow, TX on sandy loam soils with a hard caliche layer several feet down, typical of the High Plains. Though generally classified as poor agricultural soil, grapevines thrive here with abundant growth, allowing for better yields and a luscious canopy. The fruit was machine-picked and fermented in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine was aged in 40% new Hungarian oak to add spice and sweetness.
